Kenny Headstone, Clonlea Graveyard. The inscription reads: Here rest the mortal remains of Michael William Kenny, Scarth House. Surgeon of the first class on the staff of the military hospitals. He loved his country. Anxious that the honest energy and virtue of its sons and daughters should be the basis of her prosperity. He ever boldly asserted his high & generous principles through active life & late years of suffering and in death he was truly Christian. His private works marked by the deep respect of his friends for their loss. Let us honour his memory by following his example. Sept. 1853.
